Which AI assistants work with AI Allowance?

Any AI assistant that lets you add a connection by link. We've written step-by-step instructions for Claude and ChatGPT below, and other assistants that support custom connectors work the same way. We only claim support for assistants we've tested, so if yours isn't listed, the general steps may still work — and the built-in shopping list inside AI Allowance needs no connection at all.

How do I connect my AI?

You connect it once in your assistant's settings: find the connectors or apps section, add a custom one, and paste your private connection link. Pick your assistant below for step-by-step instructions. Menu names change often, so look for settings, connectors or apps.

1. Open Claude and go to its settings.
2. Find the section for connectors (sometimes called apps or integrations).
3. Choose to add a custom connector and name it “AI Allowance”.
4. Paste your private connection link and save.
5. Sign in to AI Allowance when asked, and approve the connection.

Menu names change often — if yours looks different, look for settings, connectors or apps.

Do the same rules apply to every assistant?

Yes. Your allowance limits, store rules and ask-first approvals apply no matter which AI is shopping. Each connected AI appears on your dashboard with its own allowances and its own on/off switch, and “Pause all AIs” stops every one of them at once.

Where do I find my connection link?

Your private connection link is shown when you sign in, during setup and on your dashboard. Keep it to yourself: anyone with the link could ask to connect, though they still need your sign-in and your approval before anything is shared.

What if my assistant doesn't support connections?

Use the built-in shopping list inside AI Allowance. You tell it what to look for in plain English, it finds real options with prices and reviews, and nothing is bought without your OK.
